Fantastic chair! Sent quickly, put together quickly, sitting in it now as I write this review.
I bought it to replace an ageing gaming chair with broken gas lift that I could not replace. I had reservations about ordering online, but with a 20% discount at the time of purchase, it was hard to pass up the savings. All other chairs with similar specs were easily double the price.
Now I'm on the bigger side, and looking at the information I could not find a max weight recommendation. No problem, I'll send a message. The fantastic staff emailed me the very next day to let me know it had max weight of 150kg (phew!), I was thoroughly impressed with the speedy communication. I've since seen the weight is in the pictures of the specifications, if Desk One added it after the fact, well done! Though more than likely I missed it, oops!
Now, onto the chair! First of all, the instructions were pretty easy to follow - just make sure you have the right washers and the right screws and you'll be fine. (2 different kinds for seat assembly). I put the chair together in probably an hour. I would probably recommend 2 people for the build, purely for the arms - one to hold the arm, one to hold the seat. I was able to do it by balancing the seat face down onto my lap. A little tricky but not too bad.
Attaching the mechanism to lift/tilt was straightforward, just have the seat face down and balanced on the previously secured arms.
The part I thought would be tricky was attaching the back to the seat - I thought wrong. If you're doing it solo like me, simply place your seat face down on a corner of the table, and there is a slot that the back slides into. This slot "holds" the two parts together, making it easy to screw in the 3 screws.
Putting the seat onto the gas lift was a little tricky, luckily I had my young son manoeuvre the base/wheels while I lowered the chair onto the base. The chair is not too heavy on its own but this might be a part that some could find difficult, try to have a second person available if possible.
Probably the worst part of the build was attaching the headrest. Because the instructions suggest doing it at the end, and the rest is right up against the back of the chair, it's tricky to see what you're doing. Also the screws were very frustrating to try to catch into the thread when doing it at this angle. If you have a second person, I'd probably recommend attaching the headrest first, as you can turn the back upside down and see exactly what you're doing.
Finally the chair was built!! The moment of truth - the first sit down. WOW.... the seat is extremely cushy, and there's a pleasant little bounce as you sit down, feeling like the chair really embraces you. The height of the headrest in its most downward position is perfect for me personally (165cm) but it is adjustable for taller individuals, and completely optional if you're of shorter stature and don't need it. The back of the seat has 2 cushioning pillows (?) that support your back whilst sitting right back in the chair, and the curve of the back also keeps you from slouching, which I'm terrible for. The armrests at full height are perfect for supporting my elbows whilst at my desk typing (like right now) and they lower enough that they don't obstruct my arms from moving around if I don't need them up at the time. The tilt mechanism is easy to use, simply pull the lever away from the chair and it will be able to tilt freely, push the lever back in to lock it in place.
Overall, I'm extremely impressed with this chair! Exactly what I needed, at a fantastic price, arrived quickly, wonderful communication from staff, parcel tracking was on point - just a fantastic experience all around. If I need another chair in the future I know where I'm going to get it from, and anyone I know in need of a great ergonomic chair is going to be hearing about Desk One.
Thank you so, so, so much! Very happy girl over here!
